Having recently graduated with a BA (Hons) from the Documentary Photography course at the University of Wales, Newport, Janire is Punctum’s most recently recruited member. Working and training with Punctum through the Leonardo Da Vinci programme, she adds a wealth of reportage and studio portrait experience.

Janire studied Journalism in Madrid before coming to Newport and her storytelling strength has resulted in a variety of recent international exhibitions. Her work engages with the local community, linking photography and history through social reconstruction. She is currently co-curating the exhibition “Ghosts in Armour” (beginning 5th of September at The Riverfront), and showing her project “A place in the past, a place in the present” at Tredegar House in Newport (until Sep).
